When I leave my home, I always have one of my backpacks along with me. After all, there is gear that I need to have access to, everyday carry items (EDC), especially when I am away from home. My various backpacks and rucksacks serve me well for most of my needs. But there are times when a big ole’ backpack is not the most appropriate piece of gear to wear.
OK, if you try to push me towards a “MURSE” or man purse, I’m Outta Here!
I have spent a lot of time in Europe over the years. From early childhood through present day, I try to make it over to Europe at least once per year. On that continent as well as others, most men carry some sort of man bag with them everywhere that they go. So I was used to seeing this and never gave it a second thought. Well, that is… unless we are talking about the USA. For some reason, carrying a small shoulder bag makes some men think that they will look less-masculine wearing one.
I don’t understand that thought process. To me, it’s a bag that I wear around my shoulder so that I can have all my EDC with me without having to weigh down my pockets. And of course there are those times, like being near a beach, when I’m wearing shorts and don’t even have pockets.
Now, there are man bags out there that I definitely wouldn’t carry because of the way that they look. But then there are the styles that I have in my collection that just look like smaller versions of bags, that men in the USA, are used to seeing other men carry. That is the perfect prelude to telling you about my newest shoulder bag called Man-Bag Dammit by NutSac. It is a well-built man bag that looks like a smaller version of a vintage messenger bag.
